David Beckham talks career speculation

David Beckham has joked that he first heard claims he was going to AS Monaco from a friend.

The soccer legend is playing his last game for team LA Galaxy tomorrow and it has been widely reported that the 37-year-old will start talks with the French club next week.

In a press conference, David laughed about the intense speculation over his career.

"I heard about Monaco on the way to training this morning from a friend in London who said, 'I hear you are going to Monaco'. That was the first I'd heard of that," he joked. "I've got some interesting and exciting options on the table.

"I am very flattered by some of the options that I've got. I still feel I can play and I'm not considering retiring."

Rumours David might sign to AS Monaco have been fuelled after his wife Victoria was seen looking at schools in West London.

The former Spice Girl and her three sons were shown around the £6,000-a-term Harrodian School in England's capital earlier this week.

The 38-year-old and her children apparently spent an hour at the prestigious institution, which Twilight stud Robert Pattinson attended.

David - who also has a young daughter with his wife - has also been linked to clubs in New York City, France and Australia.

Earlier this week, he ruled out returning to the English league although he admitted he is keen to spend more time in his home country.

"It's good for the kids to see their grandparents," he explained.

David announced he would be leaving LA Galaxy earlier this month.
