David Hasselhoff’s daughter denies DUI
David Hasselhoff’s daughter Hayley has insisted she was not arrested for a DUI in December.
Hayley Hasselhoff was widely reported to have been arrested in Los Angeles shortly after Christmas. It was claimed police had filed charged against her on January 3, said to be especially serious as the 20-year-old is under the official US drinking age of 21.
Hayley has insisted the report is entirely false.
“The story that broke this week is absolutely false,” she told ET Online in a statement.
“I did not get a DUI, nor did I get arrested. I wish that the press would do their diligence to get their facts straight.”
The star’s representative confirmed Hayley was stopped by police because she was speeding. She was given a ticket, but there was never a DUI arrest or charge.
“Unfortunately, this is not the first time my family and I have been falsely accused... However, since drinking and driving is not a matter I take lightly, I wanted to speak up for the sake of my family, friends and supporters,” Hayley added.
The star’s mother Pamela Bach has been arrested for DUI in the past, receiving a 90-day prison sentence following an incident in 2010.
Her father David has a history of alcohol problems. A video of him eating a burger while drunk in 2007 was released by his daughter Taylor Ann in a bid to show him he needed to quit alcohol. He also had a stint in hospital in 2009 after suffering a report seizure over Thanksgiving, with claims he was drinking when he fell ill.
