Dec: I vote for Helen to do trials

Declan Donnelly says he has been voting for Helen Flanagan to do more bushtucker trials

I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! host Declan Donnelly has confessed he has been voting for Helen Flanagan to do the bushtucker trials.

The 22-year-old former Coronation Street actress took part in her sixth trial at the weekend after viewers continued to vote for her to suffer the bugs, rats and snakes in a bid to win food for her fellow celebrity campers. And according to The Metro, Dec joked he votes for Helen because he likes seeing her at the trials.

Dec, 37, joked: "Me and Helen are getting on like a house on fire. We've been on a lot of dates in the bushtucker trial area. We've seen each other every day. In fact, I've been voting for her to come down there every day. It's all me!"

Co-host Ant McPartlin added: "She receives a hug off him every day."

Dec is impressed with how well Helen has started to do.

He said: "It's interesting; she's had a bit of a journey on the show. During the first trial, she lasted 10 seconds underground. Then she ate something in the Rotten Rhymes trial, and then she got a few stars the other day in Come Dive With Me, but she didn't listen to the rules so the stars were disqualified.

"She's gone on a little journey and she's now turned it around."

And he thinks Helen's perseverance has been spurred on by her fellow contestants, who have told her she has to start bringing back food.

Dec said: "All of that goodwill and all of that showbiz 'don't worry about us, darling' has now disappeared.

"That doesn't exist any more. She is under no illusions any more. They've now said everything to her face and she knows how they feel."
