Demi Lovato tore down the house while performing a remix of her new song Cool for the Summer with Iggy Azalea at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.

The 23-year-old revealed the sexy cover art for her new album a few days ago, on which she is photographed wearing a dominatrix-like outfit with a spiky shirt and black razor sharp fingernails.

The Former Disney star claims she wanted to go a little more Gothic with her new LP because Demi is experiencing a particularly fierce stage of life right now.

“The album is called Confident," she explained to ET Online. "And I wanted something that was going to best represent the album title, where I'm at today and the music.

"I've never been more confident in my life and it was the perfect album title.”

Demi exhibited the newfound confidence by rocking the house at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards with a remix of her new song Cool for the Summer. She performed the track with Iggy Azalea on the night and the women’s steamy dance moves heated up the show. They both chose to wear thigh-high boots for the occasion and Demi donned a bondage-type purple leotard while dancing and making sexy faces onstage.

Demi recently admitted she was once envious of Miley Cyrus, who hosted the VMAs Sunday night.

"There was a time when I was jealous of people who were able to party," the sober star told America’s Cosmopolitan magazine. "For instance, Miley -- in her music video Can't Stop, her whole thing was partying and not giving a f**k. Part of me was super jealous that I couldn’t be like that. I had to look at my life and be like, 'Okay, that's just not what you can do. There's no need to be bitter about it.'"
