The actors are both single after splitting from their significant others earlier this year.

Diane Kruger has sparked rumours of a new romance with fellow actor Garrett Hedlund after enjoying a night out together in New York City.

The Inglourious Basterds beauty recently called it quits with Joshua Jackson, her boyfriend of 10 years, but it appears she is now back on the dating scene after turning heads with Garrett, who split from Kirsten Dunst earlier this year (16).

The pair stepped out for wine and appetisers at The Butcher's Daughter on Monday night (12Sep16), before heading to the historic Ear Inn bar, reports People.com.

Both Diane and the TRON: Legacy star were dressed casually for the get-together - the 40-year-old actress wore a patterned halter neck top and polka dot pants, while Garrett, 32, donned a black T-shirt under a navy button down and dark jeans.

Representatives for the rumoured couple have yet to comment on the romance speculation, which emerges almost two months after Diane announced her break-up from Joshua.

At the time, the longtime lovers released a joint statement in which they vowed to "remain friends", and they stayed true to their word last month (Aug16), when they were spotted sharing a quick hug and kiss as Joshua dropped his ex off at Los Angeles International Airport.

Meanwhile, Garrett has been single since parting ways with his On the Road co-star Kirsten, 34, after four years together. She has since moved on with Jesse Plemons, who played her onscreen husband in the second season of hit TV crime drama Fargo.
