DiCaprio obsessed with vests

Leonardo DiCaprio collects vests in the same way women collect shoes.

The star's latest role is as Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street, about a wealthy stockbroker who falls into a life of corruption. He has already scooped the best actor Golden Globe Award and is nominated for a best actor Oscar and BAFTA.

In real life, 39-year-old says his only vice is adding to his collection of sleeveless shirts.

"I'm not really obsessed with sports cars or private jets or things like that, but I have a passion for collecting vests," he laughed to the British edition of OK! magazine.

"My vests are a little bit like how women feel about shoes - I get that! Even if I see a vest that's identical in style and colour but has a little something different to it, I have to have it! I also like collecting art. Andy Warhol is one of my favourite artists, but the biggest purchase I've ever made was the house I bought for my mother."

In the '90s Leonardo won over the hearts of fans by playing the heartthrob leads in Titanic and Romeo + Juliet. Despite being offered a lifestyle of excess, he's always been careful to stay on the right track.

"I had enough fun in my 20s to last me a lifetime and I was lucky enough to have people around me who kept me from going overboard," he explained.

"Fame can be very destructive, but I caught on very quickly that they live in a kind of parallel universe where reality can get distorted. We don't change society and our work isn't going to eliminate famine or prevent wars."
