DiCaprio’s ‘decoy duck’
Leonardo DiCaprio is rumoured to have hired a look-a-like to confuse people when he is at nightclubs.
The actor is renowned for his love of nights out and is regularly seen living the high life with friends at hotspots around the world.
Earlier this week he was seen at Catch in New York City, but it wasn't his behaviour that got tongues wagging. The star was wearing a white T-shirt and flat cap, with another partygoer in exactly the same outfit. The unknown gent bore a striking resemblance to the 38-year-old star and spent much of the evening standing near him, apparently causing many people to think he was the real star.
"[Leonardo] has been wearing that ridiculous flat cap instead of his usual baseball hat. But now Leo has a Di-coy, because there was another guy that looked exactly like Leo wearing the same hat and T-shirt, smoking the same e-cigarette, hanging out in front of Leo at his table," an insider claimed to New York Daily News' Confidenti@l column.
“People would get confused as to which one was the real Leo."
The evening was to celebrate the nightspot's two-year anniversary. A host of big names attended, among them models Alessandra Ambrosio and Jessica White.
Leonardo was spotted deep in conversation with a mystery brunette woman during the night, causing rumours his romance with model Toni Garrn might have hit a rocky patch.
At the end of last week Toni was taken into the Provocateur nightclub in New York City's Meatpacking District to meet Leonardo. An insider told the publication the 21-year-old model exited just 20 minutes late and looked distraught.
