DiCaprio’s stepbrother ‘arrested’
Leonardo DiCaprio’s stepbrother Adam Farrar has reportedly been arrested in Texas for drug related offences.
The 43-year-old’s stepsibling Adam Farrar was taken into custody in Texas last Friday for drug related offences, Radar Online reports.
Apparently Adam, who was reported missing last month, was detained on two outstanding misdemeanour warrants issued out of Los Angeles County on charges of “possession of a dangerous drug and theft”.
The website reports his girlfriend Charity Moore, with whom he shares six-year-old daughter Normandie, was arrested just five days prior on similar charges. The woman was also reportedly booked for being “a parent contributing to the child’s nonattendance at school”.
It’s claimed Normandie’s welfare is of particular concern to Leo and his family, as they have no idea where the little girl is.
“Adam and Charity have been hiding with Normandie in Texas, away from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, who have long been involved in their cases due to their criminal pasts. They had been staying in North Dallas. Now, no one in the family is sure where their daughter is, at this time,” a source told Radar.
Both Adam and Charity face long jail sentences if they’re convicted of the crimes.
Adam appeared in TV series Galactica 1980, which is thought to have fuelled Leo's interest in acting.
Apparently his run-ins with the law has caused a rift between them.
“They were brothers and best friends rolled into one. Adam was Leo’s hero too and very influential in his early years," a friend told UK publication The Sun.
“But in recent years it has become hard for Leo to maintain their relationship.”
Leonardo is up for an Oscar this year for his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street. The ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on March 2.
