The mystery surrounding Lindsay Lohan's pregnancy claims continues as her mother Dina Lohan insists the actress is without child.

The Mean Girls actress sparked speculation she was expecting a child with her Russian fiance Egor Tarabasov when she launched into a rant on Instagram, accusing him of cheating on her in July (16) and hinting she was pregnant.

The actress hasn't mentioned the rumours since and her representative couldn't comment on them, but Lindsay's father Michael was adamant she must be pregnant because she would have no reason to lie to him about it.

However, her mother Dina, who divorced Michael in 2005, insists it's not true and Lindsay was emotional and "overreacted" about Egor's reported infidelity and made the pregnancy allegation up as means of revenge, according to

The couple recently had an explosive row on the balcony of Lindsay's London home in which Lindsay accused Egor of strangling her, saying he "almost killed" her. Neighbours called the police but they ruled no crime had been committed when they reported to the scene.

Dina tells the website Lindsay plans to get back with Egor, who she is still engaged to, but she wants some time away from him which led to holiday on yacht near the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Since being away the star has been spotted smoking and drinking alcohol.

Michael had a different view on the pregnancy reports, telling U.S. news show Inside Edition last week (ends31Jul16), "I have no reason not to believe her... She is my daughter. She hasn't lied to me. She hasn't misled me. I go on what she tells me."

During her series of angry posts, Lindsay accused her fashion designer pal Dasha Pashevkina of sleeping with Egor and dubbed her a "Russian hooker". Dasha's lawyers have threatened to sue the actress unless she makes a public apology on Instagram.
