Dina Lohan receives DWI sentence
Dina Lohan was chewed out by a judge in court Tuesday while receiving her punishment for driving under the influence.
The 51-year-old mother of Lindsay Lohan was arrested for drunk driving in September 2013 in Long Island, New York and she pled guilty to the charges in April.
According to Page Six, Dina was ripped to shreds in court by Judge Engel when she appeared for sentencing on Tuesday.
"The only person responsible for this ordeal is Miss Lohan. She is just lucky nobody was killed. She may not be as lucky next time,” Engel said, before Dina promptly replied: “There will be no next time.”
The magistrate revoked her driver’s licence for one year, ordered her to pay $2,600 in fines and she must install an interlock device in her car, which requires her to breathe into a breathalyzer before each journey.
Dina must also complete 100 hours of community service and become involved in a Drinking Driver Program and Victims Impact Panel. All of these punishments are conditional and should she violate any of the judge’s orders, Dina will be sent to jail.
Mark Heller served as her lawyer throughout and he confirms she is elated the judge didn’t send her to prison.
“Nassau County dispenses the sternest DWI sentences in America,” Heller said.
“The DA was elected on the platform that she would be tough on DWI drivers. Dina is so relieved.”
Dina's blood alcohol level registered at .20 when she was arrested last year, more than twice the state's legal limit of .08.
