Northern Ireland-born singer-songwriter Neil Hannon has joined the line-up of musicians due to pay tribute to David Bowie at the Proms.

The Divine Comedy frontman is to take part in the Late Night BBC Proms tomorrow, performing new takes on the star's classic works.

Hannon said: "I've spent my whole life since trying to be half as creative or original (as Bowie). I'm delighted to have the opportunity to pay my dues to a colossus of modern culture."

The Prom, curated and directed by Andre de Ridder, will celebrate Bowie's entire musical career and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and 6 Music, and shown on BBC Four.
