Doctor Who loses viewers battle
TV adventurer Doctor Who met his match on Saturday night - after coming up against Trevor Nelson and Cheryl Baker.
Ratings show BBC1 was beaten by a narrow margin by ITV1's All Star Family Fortunes - featuring teams led by Nelson and Baker.
The Time Lord - played by Matt Smith - pulled in an average 5.2 million viewers for Saturday night's edition of the show, while 5.3 million tuned in to see the ITV programme.
The sci-fi series featured David Walliams, who last week completed his swim along 140 miles of the River Thames, as a giant mole.
Later in the evening, ITV1's X Factor continued its audience domination with an average of 11.1 million viewers, which is 300,000 up on the show at the same stage of the competition last year. The show pulled in the same level of audience as last week.
