Doherty jokes 'Sally's my woman'

Paddy Doherty has been talking about his unlikely friendship with Sally Bercow

Paddy Doherty has said there is no way he'd let his own wife go on holiday with another man, after taking the wife of Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow on a trip round Europe.

The 53-year-old former bare-knuckle boxer and Sally Bercow - who formed an unlikely friendship when they appeared on Celebrity Big Brother together last year - went on a tour of Europe together exploring traveller life for new show Paddy And Sally's Excellent Gypsy Adventure.

Paddy laughed: "Sally, eh she's just a diamond, you can't blame her getting flirty around me can you?!If John finds out Sally's flirting around me big time, John'd kill her!

"Sally didn't mind me and John didn't mind me, but I assure you this I'd mind if someone took my woman on the holiday. She's my woman. I wouldn't let my woman cross the road, she's my woman you know what I mean?!

"But there's no harm in it, it's just friendship and kindness. There's nothing going on."

The reality TV star also confessed he and Sally argued like husband and wife while they were on the trip.

He said: "Sally's like a fish out of water. We have a bit of man and wife's arguments, you know what I mean? We have our ups and downs, but it's lovely.

"We didn't fall out much. It's just like, 'Sally do this!' Or 'Paddy do that!' And I go 'Go away woman! Don't do that!' And she says, 'I'm not a woman,' and I say 'You're my woman at this present moment - which she was at the time - you know what I mean?!"

:: Paddy And Sally's Excellent Gypsy Adventure begins on Channel Five on Wednesday, September 12 at 10pm.
