Downey Jr.’s baby Avri
Robert Downey Jr. has confirmed the arrival of his baby daughter, and revealed she is called Avri Roel Downey.
The Iron Man actor confirmed news of his and wife Susan's new arrival on his Facebook page on Wednesday. Robert, 49, also revealed more details about his little girl, including that she weighed 7lbs at birth, and is 20 inches long.
“After 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall/winter project,” Robert wrote on his Facebook page. “Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, ‘Dad! You are embarrassing me…I’m 30, this has gotta stop.’”
“Yep…Avri Roel Downey joined the party @ 3:22 a.m. on November 4th…she’s 7lbs even, spans 20 inches, and is accompanied by a variety of Susan’s traits that have seemingly overwritten my ‘junk DNA.’ I’ll post pics here + there when I’m not too busy staring…”
The filmmaking couple already have two-year-old son Exton and Robert also has 21-year-old Indio from a previous relationship.
Last week Robert, 49, collected the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film at the BAFTA Los Angeles event.
During his speech he mentioned his then-still-pregnant wife and joked the pregnancy had been “tough” oh him and that he required “self-prescribed mandatory bed rest”.
“It’s just the uncertainty of how nowadays you have all these things where you think you have much more of an understanding of what you’re going to get,” he continued during a heartfelt moment. “And then this little soul lets herself be known to you, and it’s just like: You don’t know anything. It’s great!”
