Duchess makes marathon appearance

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in Wales for the first time since having Prince George today.

Catherine and her husband Prince William welcomed baby George Alexander Louis into the world last month.

Today the new mom stepped out for the first time since Prince George's arrival to attend a marathon in North Wales.

Catherine and William were spotted looking happy and relaxed at the Ring O'Fire Coastal Ultra Marathon on Anglesey.

The pretty brunette royal showed off her fashion credentials in an outfit that was both casual and chic.

Proving her love of the high street, the 31-year-old sported a khaki blazer, a floaty cream Zara top and black skinny jeans, paired with LK Bennett wedges.

The appearance is a surprise for everyone, as Catherine wasn't expected to step out until September 12.

William acted as the starter for the race, ringing the bell that set participants off around the course.

The proud parents didn't bring baby George, but did speak about their bundle of joy.

"He is very well. He's sleeping at the moment," Catherine said, according to British newspaper The Mirror.

Upon being presented with nappies, William said: "We've got a lot of these. We can always do with some more."

Apparently little George has just acquired a new godfather.

According to British newspaper The Sun, William asked his friend and former owner of Mahiki London nightclub, Guy Pelly, to do the honours.

George will reportedly have six godparents, thought to include William's brother Harry and Catherine's sister Pippa.

His baptism will take place this fall.
