EastEnders bosses planning explosive storyline for Danny Dyer's return

Danny Dyer will be thrown straight into an explosive new storyline when he returns to EastEnders, as his character has a punch-up with Lee Ryan's new bad boy Woody.

The 39-year-old actor was signed off from the BBC soap earlier this year (17) due to suffering from exhaustion. He went to South Africa in an attempt to take control of his personal life, and recently returned after a four-week break in the country, but producers are said to have told him to take some more time to be with his family, who are apparently concerned for his health.

He is apparently now planning his return to the show, with scriptwriters already working on his comeback scenes, which will see him and Lee come to blows after Woody gets a job in character Mick Carter's Queen Vic pub.

"Danny is going to be straight back into the thick of it when his character returns to our screens – and his character Mick Carter immediately finds a new enemy," a source told The Sun newspaper.

“Mick is left seriously riled when Walford’s new villain Woody rocks up on the square – and even lands a job alongside him in the Vic. There’s going to be ongoing beef between the two hardmen and eventually it all kicks off."

And it's not going to be a casual brawl - The Sun claims that Danny and Lee will be fighting in the middle of Albert Square, rolling all over the place.

"Woody also has a secret connection to Kellie Bright's character Linda too which makes things even more difficult," the source added. "It’s going to be one of the first scenes Danny and Lee film together.”

Danny has been involved in a series of big plots since he joined EastEnders in 2013, including a scene which involved him wrestling with co-star Matt Di Angelo in a lake as part of a New Year's storyline.
