Eddie Redmayne says he doesn't know if he is a good singer - despite starring in musical movie Les Misérables.

The British actor is appearing in the big screen adaption of the popular stage show alongside Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, with the whole cast performing their songs recorded as live.

The My Week with Marilyn star admitted that it took getting used to belting out the tracks, despite having enjoyed singing as a student.

"It was completely new to all of us," he told British website Grazia Daily. "I used to sing at school but I don't know how good I am."

Eddie also revealed that he is looking forward to a well-deserved break.

The actor-and-model has been working relentlessly for the past 18 months, starring in Les Misérables, Birdsong, My Week with Marilyn and a number of Burberry fashion campaigns.

"I'm going on holiday in a week and I can't wait. I am looking forward to taking some time off," he said.
