Efron ‘cuts out bad influences’
Zac Efron has reportedly made drastic changes to his social life since his rehab stay.
Last year it was revealed that the 26-year-old actor had secretly checked into rehab. He has never confirmed what he sought treatment for, although it was rumoured to be substance abuse.
Zac now has his life back on track and has apparently completely ditched his previous lifestyle.
"He cut... everyone out of his life who were part of the party scene," an insider told People magazine.
Rather than spending time raging at A-list bashes in Hollywood, Zac's social life is now quieter. He is taking his career seriously and enjoys reading scripts during his downtime.
The star has also been working out a lot - which could be why he is nominated for the best topless gong at this year's MTV Movie Awards for his shirtless scene in That Awkward Moment. He also strips off for Neighbors, although he recently admitted he was embarrassed to flex his pecs on screen.
On a more serious note, Zac has been dedicated to his recovery and apparently regularly attends sobriety meetings. He has been seen out with a six-month chip, although a pal of his admits the going hasn't always been easy.
The source said the star "has temptations", with another adding he "is totally committed to being sober now".
Zac attended last month's Academy Awards and afterwards it was reported he had a sober coach with him for the event.
He hasn't spoken much about his time in treatment, instead choosing to focus on the positives when asked about it.
"I'm in the best place I've ever been. I've never been this happy before. I'm extraordinarily grateful for these guys and to be here promoting this movie [That Awkward Moment]. I don't know. Things are good. I don't know. Thank you for asking," he previously said.
