Eisenberg: I hate awards nights

Jesse Eisenberg isn't a fan of awards ceremonies

Jesse Eisenberg confessed he hates award ceremonies as he doesn't like social situations.

The Social Network star said he was honoured to be nominated for a Bafta but admitted he was not looking forward to the evening ahead, surrounded by actors and actresses he didn't know.

Jesse said: "I have trouble meeting people at events like this because they are so overwhelming. I tend to have trouble meeting people in a one on one situation in my own house, so you can imagine how I am at these kind of events."

Meanwhile, Tom Hooper, director of The King's Speech said he was not worried about making an acceptance speech, as he would just think of the film.

Tom said: "It always gives me confidence because I think even if I get it wrong, it's not like I stammer, so it always gives me some kind of courage that I'm lucky that I can express myself as I want."

He also said he was delighted at the news that The Queen herself had seen the film.

Tom said: "I'm so thrilled. I've spent months deflecting that question, 'Has The Queen seen it?' and to find out that she did and has been moved, that's really thrilling."
