Britt Ekland has claimed that Hollywood heartthrob Warren Beatty tried to seduce her by taking her to see a porn film.

And the actress suggested that his technique did the trick - as she recalled they both exited the cinema and headed to a hotel.

She told of their encounter and the terrible effect her split from Rod Stewart had on her life in an interview with Piers Morgan's Life Stories.

Describing her encounter with the actor and director, she said: "I think he seduced me. I'm not a very forward girl. I wasn't then. Do you know what movie he took me to? And I have never told anyone - he took me to see a pornographic movie. I just wanted to get out of there. He had to leave too."

Asked where they went she said: "I guess back to the hotel. Wouldn't you if you were at a porn movie with me?"

The Swedish star had a high-profile relationship with rock star Rod during the 1970s and she said he had never apologised for breaking her heart.

She said she only heard he had cheated on her after a chance encounter at a party when she bumped into the actor George Hamilton.

He told her that his partner had left him for her "ex-boyfriend".

"Ex-boyfriend? Who could that be?" she told presenter Piers. "And suddenly a light went up and it said, 'Rod Stewart'. And I just threw myself in the car and drove home. I wanted to throw up. I didn't believe it... I became anorexic and I had a really hard time, a really hard time. I had cocaine in those days when I was offered it."

The interview is to be screened by ITV tonight (March 29) at 9pm.
