Elisabeth Moss: I don't suck
Elisabeth Moss says that it's taken her a while to work out that she's a good actress.
The American star has been acting since childhood, but it was her roles in hit TV shows The West Wing and Mad Men that really launched her career. Because she's been in the acting game such a long time, the 31-year-old actress experienced plenty of knock backs which at times led her to question her career choice.
“I’ve been around for a while. I’ve had disappointments, I’ve had those moments where you really wanted to get something and you didn’t, or when you thought you could do it, but no one else did, so it’s nice to finally be like OK, maybe I don’t suck," Elisabeth confessed to Bello magazine.
Elisabeth is part of the original Mad Men cast and her role as Peggy Olson in the hit show, based on an advertising agency in '60s New York, quickly made her a household name.
The series is currently in its seventh and final season, with fans and cast alike gearing up to say goodbye to the award-winning series. Elisabeth is trying to out an artistic spin on this end of an era.
"You really are putting this thing that existed for a long time and that you were a part of for so long, to bed, and this last season, it’s for us, and it’s for our audience that has been with us the entire time. It’s kind of like a painting; you’re putting the last of your strokes on it, and then it’s a complete work of art, and then it’s done," she mused.
Earlier this year Elisabeth bagged herself the Golden Globe for best actress in a miniseries for her role as Robin in Top of the Lake. The crime series allowed Elisabeth's fans to see a new side to the talented actress, but she initially doubted her ability to take on the role of a detective trying to solve a murky suicide attempt.
“It’s one of those things that when I first got sent [the script] – I mean, I had to audition for it – but when I initially got sent it, obviously I was like, 'Yes, I would love to be a part of this!' But then I thought to myself, 'I’m sure they’re going to give it to some other actress,'" she revealed.
