Elizabeth Banks: Hunger Games garb was crazy
Wednesday, 22 February 2012
Elizabeth Banks "couldn't do anything" while suited up in her Hunger Games costume.
The 38-year-old actress portrays Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games, the highly-anticipated upcoming sci-fi fantasy action drama.
Elizabeth's character dons lavish Rococo gowns and powders her face profusely.
Being fastened into corsets and dresses with long trains all day long on set was a challenging experience for Elizabeth.
"I couldn't go to the bathroom. I literally couldn't zip or unzip, or do a button. I couldn't wipe. I couldn't do anything," Elizabeth told MTV News.
Elizabeth was not a fan of Effie's manicure either.
"The worst part about it was my nails," Elizabeth detailed. "I had these crazy, long, insane fake nails-bejeweled and... just insane. And once they were on, I literally couldn't do anything. I couldn't [use my] iPhone, Blackberry. I couldn't use the computer."
The prep time to physically get into Effie's character was equally arduous.
"It was a really long process to find [Effie's look], initially," she explained. "It was a couple days of hanging out in the trailer and playing around. But once we nailed it, it was just two hours a day."
The Hunger Games will be released in the US next month.
