Ellen and Portia 'patching things up'
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's marriage is back on track, according to reports.
The couple were rumoured to be having marriage difficulties over the summer, after the Arrested Development actress allegedly entered rehab for drug and alcohol addiction. But, after a break from her hit daytime chat show, Ellen, 56, is reportedly happier than she has been in months.
"Ellen says that she and Portia are doing so much better,” a source told Radar Online. "Towards the end of last season everything was really taking a toll on her. While Portia was in treatment and everyone was predicting that they were getting a divorce, it was really hard. But thankfully, all of that has passed.”
The women married at their Beverly Hills home in August 2008 after getting together three years previously. The couple appeared to be happy in each other's company when they were spotted arm in arm in Los Angeles earlier this week. The source claims that Ellen is determined to make her marriage to the 41-year-old last.
"Ellen says that she will be with Portia forever and that she puts her wife before anything, even her career,” the source added.
The news follows previous reports by InTouch Weekly that Portia wanted to have children with her wife to complete their family.
"All Portia can talk about is beginning a new chapter in their lives and starting a family," a source told the outlet. “Portia made a video montage of Ellen with kids she’s interviewed over the years... It really choked Ellen up. Portia hugged her, whispering, ‘You’d be the best mother ever.’ She thinks a child will bond her and Ellen forever.”
