Ellen Page is completely in love with her girlfriend Samantha Thomas.

The 28-year-old Juno star came out in 2014 and is currently dating Samantha Thomas.

Last night they headed to the Toronto International Film Festival to promote Ellen's new film Freeheld. It marked an important moment for the actress, who is proud to show off her plus one.

"I'm in love," she beamed to E! Online.

"Walking down the carpet holding my girlfriend's hand is pretty special... It's pretty awesome."

Freeheld is an important project for Ellen, with the drama focusing on a police lieutenant and her registered domestic partner. When Laurel Hester, played by Julianne Moore, is diagnosed with terminal cancer, she and her partner Stacie Andree, played by Ellen, face a fight to secure Laurel's pension benefits.

Ellen's friend Ruby Rose, who has become known for starring in Netflix Original show Orange Is the New Black, was thoroughly impressed with the movie.

"When your best friend is the most talented, funny, beautiful, generous, humble human being it's hard to not smile until it hurts. Ellen, I am so proud of you and will always be grateful for everything you are and will always be to me. @ellenpage (sic)," she gushed on Instagram.

Ellen has become an inspiration within the LGBTQ community since her brave coming out speech last year.

“I suffered for years because I was scared to be out,” she revealed. “My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.”
