Ellen Pompeo's Channing Tatum fantasy
Ellen Pompeo has got mad at Grey's Anatomy writer Shonda Rhimes for past storylines she hated.
Ellen Pompeo’s ideal Grey’s Anatomy storyline involves Channing Tatum in a firefighter’s uniform.
Ellen stars as lead character Dr. Meredith Grey in the long running medical drama, created by showrunner Shonda Rhimes.
The show, now in its 13th season, has attracted some big names over the years, including Demi Lovato, Christina Ricci and Sarah Paulson, though Ellen’s dream guest is yet to appear.
"I love Jenna Dewan-Tatum," she gushed to Good Housekeeping. "I tweeted one time to Shonda that I thought that Jenna and Taylor Swift should dress up as cats and get stuck in a tree and Channing (Jenna’s husband) should show up in a firefighter uniform and come save them. Like why not? Like why can't we?"
TV lover Taylor famously called her cats Meredith Grey and Olivia Benson, after the Grey’s Anatomy protagonist and the lead in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, played by Mariska Hargitay.
Ellen recently spoke out about why she’s stayed on the show for so long, admitting it's all to do with her age and her fear of not being able to land other work. Now the 46-year-old has shared what it’s been like to work with Shonda, who’s also behind hit show Scandal, for the past 11 years.
"We have a respect for each other that we've both survived this long," she smiled. (Still, we've disagreed on the direction for Meredith) a hundred times. There were plenty of storylines I absolutely hated, and I was mad at her for them, but I've always trusted her vision. She's the successful writer, not me."
