Emily Blunt giddy for Golden Globe nom

Emily Blunt has been enjoying a perk of being a film festival juror when she was told she was in the running for a Golden Globe Award.

The 31-year-old actress is up for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy Award at the upcoming ceremony, thanks to her role as The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods. She was in Dubai when she was told the news last week, and it took a little while to register with her.

"It's thrilling! I was at the Dubai Film Festival, I was a juror, I was on the jury so they give you a few perks," she told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. "So I was having a massage! It was right after, I was kind of out of it and I heard and was very excited."

It wasn't all about work while Emily was in Dubai, she also had time for some fun. She went to Ferrari World, which is famed for having the fastest rollercoaster in the world, called Formula Rossa.

"You would have thrown up," Emily laughed to Jimmy. "It goes zero to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Basically it was fast that it feels wrong on your body. People went from, 'Yeah, this is so great,' And it took off and people went [clenches jaw and stares]. And no one screamed, no one made a sound, they thought they were dying."

Emily has appeared alongside some of the biggest stars on the planet in her films, including Tom Cruise. The pair teamed up on Edge of Tomorrow and became firm friends on set. Tom is renowned for going in all guns blazing when it comes to stunts, so Emily is in no doubt he wouldn't have been as scared on the Formula Rossa.

"For Tom, he would be like, 'Guys, it's slow, let's go. Guys this sucks, let's do it without safety harnesses,'" she joked.

Emily was also quizzed on her daughter Hazel. The ten-month-old tot is her child with husband John Krasinski, and she didn't come with Emily when she was in Dubai. Instead John cared for her, with Jimmy joking he couldn't imagine the funnyman in charge of a child.

"I know it's weird. No we have eight nannies, it's fine. He barely sees her," she deadpanned.
