Emma Stone: I'm old at heart

Emma Stone doesn't think she has much in common with people her own age.

At just 26 years old, the actress has managed to make a huge impact on the film industry in flicks such as The Amazing Spider-Man and The Help.

Maybe it's because she was exposed to Hollywood as a teenager that Emma feels wise beyond her years.

"I'm a 75-year-old at heart!" she laughed to German magazine Joy. "But seriously, age doesn't matter to me. Many seek the company of others of a similar age because they have a lot in common with them. That's not the case for me. Maybe it's because I, unlike others in their mid-20s, didn't go to high school or college and was home-schooled instead."

Emma has been loved-up with her 31-year-old Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield since 2011. They keep their relationship fairly quiet, but the redheaded star thinks lessons learned in love are important.

"You might fall in love with someone who you think is The One, but then it doesn't work out," she reasoned.

"Then you meet someone else, and it turns out they are actually the right person for you."

Emma is resilient in her relationships and also when it comes to her career. She had to deal with plenty of rejection before she hit the big time, recalling a time she auditioned for TV shoe Heroes and lost out to Hayden Panettiere.

Luckily, she can always pick herself back up.

"I might not be physically strong, but I am strong willed," she smiled.

"Thank god, because two weeks after the disappointment of Heroes, I got the part in Superbad that completely changed my life.

"Now I've learned that you only get the things in life that are right and meant for you."
