Mireille Enos has talked about how she coped filming The Killing while five months pregnant.
The Big Love actress plays the lead role in the US remake of the Danish detective series, and was five months pregnant while filming the pilot and her baby daughter Vesper Vivianne was just six weeks old when she started filming the full series.
"By the last day of shooting [the pilot] I was in a men's extra-large size windbreaker and they could only shoot me from the front looking directly into camera," she said.
The actress, who is married to Ferris Bueller's Day Off actor Alan Ruck, added: "I was eight months pregnant when we found out the series was going ahead - and in Vancouver, so I got lots of little sweaters and baby Uggs at the baby shower. Then we made it a family adventure, packed up the baby, and me and my husband drove ourselves up there when she was six weeks old."
The pregnancy also meant that she couldn't shadow police officers to get a sense of the grit involved in their jobs.
"But I do Taekwondo and I have friends who work in the police department so I talked to them," she said.
:: The Killing begins on Thursday, July 7 on Channel 4.
