Eric Stonestreet: I need tequila for Globes!
Eric Stonestreet says not going to the Golden Globes last night reminded him of the "first 11 years" of his career.
The annual ceremony took place in Los Angeles last night, with many A-listers in attendance.
Since 2010, Sofía and Eric's show Modern Family has been up for one of the golden trophies every year, taking home the best comedy or musical television series honour in 2012.
This year the series got no mentions, so Eric stayed home and reminisced about the past instead.
"Not going to the Golden Globes today really reminds me of the first 11 years of my career," he drily noted on Twitter.
"This is about the time we would run out of the tequila in the flask @SofiaVergara would sneak in. (sic)"
Luckily, Eric didn't feel he was missing out on too much. While he enjoyed watching Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader make quips on stage, there seemed no love lost between him and last night's guests.
"Kristen and Bill have more funny in their toes than all the serious face people staring blankly at them have in their dumb faces. (sic)" he wrote.
This year, Transparent took home the best musical/comedy TV series prize. Starring Jeffrey Tambor, it tells the story of an LA family and their secrets. Things didn't stop there for the show, with Jeffrey also taking the best actor in a musical/comedy TV series honour.
"This is big. This is much bigger than me," he said in his speech. "Thank you magnificent, stellar, innovative cast. You led me all the way. You told me all the way. You inspired me all the way...You led me through the steps to find more of Jeffrey than I've ever known in my entire life."
