Eva Longoria says Jesse Metcalfe was "a baby" in Desperate Housewives.

The 37-year-old actress has spoken about her memories from the hit American TV series. Eva misses her co-stars dearly, in particular 33-year-old Jesse - who played hunky gardener John Rowland in the series. Her character Gabrielle Solis had an affair with student John early in the programme.

"When he was in our show, he was a baby," Eva explained to British newspaper The Sun.

"And now he has matured into this amazing man and amazing actor. I love him dearly and wish him all the best."

Eva starred in Desperate Housewives for eight years. Over that period she changed a lot, both as a person and an actress. The petite brunette thanked her more experienced co-stars Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman for helping her develop.

"When we started off, the other girls had shows before," Eva continued. "So I was kind of the new one and they took me under their wings. We talked about so much: marriage, babies, divorce, cancer. We evolved together."

The ending of Desperate Housewives was bittersweet for all the cast. Eva felt emotional to see the end of such a large chapter in her life but also exciting to open up a new one.

"The last day was horrible," she finished. "We were all excited to move on and close this chapter. But it was such a big part of all of our lives. The final scene was really emotional. We just sat there and talked, cried and laughed about all the moments."
