Eva Longoria knows exactly "what she wants her country to look like moving forward."

The actress is gearing up for America's presidential election this year.

Eva has been politically active since she was a teenager and is taking action to ensure that President Barack Obama remains in office.

"The reason I support President Obama is because he's the one that most reflects what I want our country to look like moving forward," she told Extra.

"It was an honour to be named one of the co-chairs of the re-election campaign and I'm a big Obama supporter."

Entrepreneur Eva, who ranks number three on Forbes' highest-paid TV actress list, is also producing new series Devious Maids for Lifetime network.

She is really captivated by the compelling stories on the programme.

"It's an amazing show about four women, who happen to be domestic workers," she said. "This is a perspective of the help, and we get to dive into their complex, rich stories."
