Eva Longoria's mother was convinced pregnancy reports were true
The actress will celebrate her first wedding anniversary at the Cannes Film Festival later this month.
Eva Longoria had to deny recent pregnancy rumours when even her mum believed they were true.
The actress, who is preparing to celebrate her first wedding anniversary with husband Jose 'Pepe' Baston, rarely responds to nonsense about her private life, but this time she felt she had to make it clear she wasn't with child when family members started calling her for confirmation.
"My mom called me and my mom was like, 'Did you see the pictures? You can tell me...', and I looked at the pictures and I was like, 'I look pregnant. Like, all right, Mom, I'ma give you this one. I'm not pregnant. I'm only having a wine baby or a cheese baby'."
Eva insists the shots of her looking a little bigger than normal had nothing to do with impending motherhood and were all about what she was eating while on vacation in Spain with Baston.
"We went to Longoria. My town," she tells news show Extra. "Oh, my God, it was amazing! It was so emotional. The whole town came out on the street and they're applauding and couldn’t believe I came to visit them and I went to the house where my ancestors lived 500 years ago and the people that lived there invited us in for lunch."
Longoria and her husband are now packing for the Cannes Film Festival, where they will celebrate a year of marriage as Eva promotes her work with L'Oreal.
"Pepe and I are celebrating our one year anniversary while I’m in Cannes."
She also has a radical role in new movie Lowriders, in which the actress plays the stepmom to an East Los Angeles street artist - and she admits she didn't have to dig too deep to find her character: "I play Gloria in the movie," she says. "I was like, 'I know Gloria, she was my neighbour'."
