Eva Mendes has reportedly always wanted children.

The 40-year-old actress is rumored to be pregnant with beau Ryan Gosling's baby, and it is thought she is already seven months in. Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres appeared to confirm the news, congratulating the couple on Twitter earlier this month and revealing she thinks their baby will be the "most beautiful, bilingual, part-superhero, well-dressed, romantic" ever.

Even though neither party have spoken out as of yet, it's thought Eva was cautious of letting on she wants children in case things didn't end up to plan.

"Eva downplayed having a family because she didn't know whether it was going to happen for her, but she has always wanted to be a mom," a source told British magazine Closer. "Ryan is being really supportive, and they can't wait for their little arrival."

It was the American edition of OK! magazine which reported the news about the couple, who have been together since 2011.

The rumored pregnancy broke amid speculation surrounding their relationship, with many suggesting they were on rocky grounds.

However, it seems Ryan is smitten with Eva and loves her laidback approach to life.

“She's very friendly and approachable. She's also very independent and Ryan is too," a source explained. "He loves that Eva isn't prissy. She's like a dude. She's outgoing and makes everyone feel great.”

Eva has kept herself out of the spotlight for some time, except when she was snapped by a photographer earlier this month. However, the actress was smart and covered her stomach with her bags, leaving fans in the dark on whether she is with child.
