Ewan McGregor was with "many, many, many women" before he got married.
The Scottish actor has admitted he enjoyed the company of endless females until he fell for his now-wife Eve Mavrakis. Ewan has been married to the French production designer for 17 years and feels lucky to have found the right person to settle down with.
"I knew right then that I really wanted to be with her and I knew I wanted to be with her in a different way to all the other many, many, many women I had been with up until that point. And I wasn't wrong. I made the right choice," he said on UK TV programme The Graham Norton Show.
Ewan met Eve on the set of the British TV show Kavanagh QC, before he made it as a movie star.
The pair tied the knot in 1995 and they raise four girls together in Los Angeles. Ewan is a totally committed family man and has a heart and dagger tattoo bearing the names of his wife and daughters on his right arm.
Although Ewan is happily settled with Eve, he has been the subject of speculation in the past. He was forced to dismiss reports he was having an affair with Nicole Kidman when they worked on Moulin Rouge! in 2001.
The 41-year-old heartthrob has no doubt about the strength of his bond with Eve.
"[There is a] lovely feeling of having been with someone for a really long time," he added. "You're so comfortable in each other's company."
