Fall's McGrady wowed by co-stars

The Fall star Niamh McGrady has admitted she was in awe of her co-stars on the show.

Niamh played policewoman Danielle Ferrington in the BBC Two thriller series starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, and is also a regular on Holby City as nurse Mary-Claire.

She told Inside Soap: "It was great to be on TV twice a week, playing polar opposite characters.

"I had lots of scenes with Gillian. I was in awe of her because I grew up watching The X Files."

But Niamh was equally impressed by the ex-Hollyoaks actors in the cast.

She said: "Hollyoaks' Emmett Scanlan (Brendan Brady) and Bronagh Waugh (Cheryl Brady) were also in the show - we hung out together and ate creme brulee.

"Bronagh was fantastic as Sally, the wife of the killer. People often don't realise how diverse and strong Hollyoaks actors can be. I'm delighted that The Fall was such a success."
