Fergie: I'll rely on my instincts

Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel are excited about becoming parents

Fergie has confessed that she is in the dark about motherhood.

The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman, who is expecting her first child with actor husband Josh Duhamel, admitted the couple are not fully clued up about parenthood.

"I have no idea what I'm doing! I'm just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in," the 37-year-old told US show Good Morning America.

Fergie, whose real name is Stacy Ferguson, insisted she is "feeling great" after some morning sickness in her first trimester.

"We're thrilled. I know that my husband told everybody what I said. My quote when we found out - 'This blank just got real'. But it's true, when that moment occurs to you, there's going to be a human being growing inside of you... It's reality. It's amazing," she said.

The couple confirmed the baby news on Twitter in February, and Josh admitted that it was hard keeping it a secret.

"I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. But we had to keep it quiet for a long time and that's just one of those things that you want to keep as private as you can," the Safe Haven star told Access Hollywood.

"But at the same time, you're so excited that you want to tell everybody. I want to tell every detail that I know, but the most important thing is that little baby, and keeping him - or her - as safe as possible."

The 40-year-old actor revealed he can't wait to be a hands-on dad, adding: "I'm looking forward to every little thing, all of it. I'm even looking forward to waking up at night and doing what everybody says you're going to dread. I've heard all the horror stories."

Sorting out and organising your surroundings should be your first priority. As a general rule, you don't mind an untidy workspace. As far as you're concerned, messiness is a sign of genius. There comes a point when even the most talented person has to make order from chaos. It may take a few hours to sort through all the papers that have accumulated, but take heart. Once you dispose the junk, you'll be able to zip through chores like a hot knife through butter.More
