Ferguson: Cheryl Cole will be OK

Cheryl Cole's career will continue to flourish whether or not she takes the US X Factor job, Rebecca Ferguson has said.

The X Factor finalist, who was mentored by the Girls Aloud star, reckons no matter what happens, Cheryl will still be a success.

"I'm sure she will be OK. I don't know what has happened, what the story is and why she has left, so I can't really comment further," she said.

Cheryl's role as judge on the American version of the talent show is still up in the air, with Simon Cowell reported to be in discussions to bring her back.

Rebecca - who stars in the new Walkers Sunbites TV advert - said Cheryl would be a welcome addition on the show.

"She would bring loads to the panel. In the UK, she is a face that we all warm to, and that people like," she continued.

"She is someone that people feel comfortable performing in front of, because she has been through it as well. She can understand people who audition on the stage because she was one of them. She has been where the contestants have been. She was very approachable and very down to earth, as a mentor."

The 24-year-old singer hasn't heard from her mentor since the show ended.

"She has been really busy with the American X Factor and her music, and I've been busy working on the album so we have lost touch," she admitted.
