Fey shuns late-night?
Tina Fey thinks Ellen DeGeneres and Amy Poehler would be great at late-night television.
The former 30 Rock actress has seen fellow Saturday Night Live alums Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers take on new hosting duties in recent months.
But Tina admits the same fate may not be in her future.
"I don't know if I would be good at it,” she told E! News.
“The thing that makes Jimmy so good at it is he really, really loves talking to people. You can't walk down the street with him, he'll talk to everyone. I'm sorta shy, so I feel like I'd be too shy to talk to people every single day all day," she explained.
Jimmy recently took on the coveted role as host of The Tonight Show while Seth is hosting Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC.
Despite admitting she might fumble if she tried following in their footsteps, the comedienne is confident both men will do well in their new positions.
"…He's just an amazing joke writer and also very smart,” she said of Seth. “He could have a politician on, and in that Jon Stewart way, he could really talk to them about what's going on. I think it's a good pairing. Maybe I could take the 2-3 a.m. slot on NBC?" she joked.
Tina also proposed a couple of fellow comediennes for the job. Tipping her hat, she noted: “I think Amy Poehler would make a great host. I always thought Ellen DeGeneres - before she had her daytime show. No one was listening to me at NBC, but I was like, 'Ellen should take The Tonight Show.'"
Tina certainly has her hands full with her own projects, however.
The actress will star in adventure comedy Muppets Most Wanted later this month in the US and will feature in Shawn Levy comedy This Is Where I Leave You, scheduled for release this fall.
