Finneran wants Downton Abbey return

Siobhan Finneran wants to head back to Downton Abbey

Siobhan Finneran has revealed she would like to return to Downton Abbey.

The 48-year-old actress admitted she would gladly reprise her role as Lady Grantham's scheming maid Sarah O'Brien in ITV's period drama - especially if she can cause a stir.

''I'd love playing her but she'd have to go back for some reason. I'd love to return and wreck the Bates' marriage or something like that," she told The Sun.

''Miss O'Brien was so wicked, bitter, horrible and vile but she was funny as well as being very, very, sharp. Maybe one day O'Brien will fly back on her broomstick to cause mischief and mayhem.''

Siobhan left the award-winning drama in 2012 to pursue other acting projects, and landed roles in Kay Mellor's BBC drama The Syndicate, Sally Wainwright's crime drama Happy Valley and Clio Barnard's film, The Selfish Giant.

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes has previously expressed his hopes that the character could make a comeback in the coming fifth series, which would air later this year. He also revealed he left the door open for a potential return.

He told Vanity Fair: ''I'd love it if she did [return]. O'Brien is very much alive. Her departure could be explained in that she simply got a new position."

Scorpio:

You should be justifiably proud of your progress. It isn't easy to break a bad habit, but you've managed to do so. A perverse side of your personality may tempt you to fall back on the old ways, just to give yourself another challenge. Ignore these impulses. Channel your energy in a positive direction instead. Learning to make clothes, furniture or jewellery will be a great use of your creative ability. You'll be especially successful if you use old, discarded materials in your work.More
