Fonda 'donated $500K this year'
Jane Fonda's foundations have reportedly donated $500,000 this year alone.
The 75-year-old Oscar-winner is president and chairman of the Jane Fonda Foundation, a philanthropic "educational organisation", according to the IRS.
Recent reports suggested the organisation made substantial gifts for the first two years following its 2004 inception but donations slowly stopped despite JFF being worth a reported $800,000.
TMZ now reports Jane has donated "huge sums" to charity in the years since, including $500,000 in 2013 alone through JFF and the Fonda Family Foundation.
A source purportedly close to the star confirmed reports gifts in 2004 and 2005 were meant to cover a five-year period.
Echoing earlier reports, the insider apparently told the website Jane made another large donation in 2011 but "someone goofed" and paid it out of her personal account rather than JFF.
The person responsible for the mix-up was reportedly fired.
"Foundation officials say that error has been corrected and they're all good now," TMZ claims.
A spokesperson for the star has not yet issued comment.
Organisations reportedly receiving donations from JFF have included the Emory University School of Medicine, the Henry W. Grady Foundation, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and the Atlanta Obstetric and Gynecology Society, according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun.
