Fonda feared looking 'overdone'

Jane Fonda

Jane Fonda instructed her plastic surgeon not to eliminate her wrinkles because she didn't want to look "overdone".

The revered actress will turn 75 later this month and has been candid in the past about using cosmetic surgery to keep her youthful appearance.

But she made sure to give detailed instructions to her surgeon before she went under the knife.

"I don't like it when it's overdone," she told Access Hollywood, "I made sure that they kept my lines. I didn't want to lose my wrinkles, I just wanted to lose the bags under my eyes."

The Barbarella star said eliminating signs of aging completely would be "hypocrisy". But she doesn't regret her decision.

Rather, Jane insists going under the knife prolonged her already successful career.

"We do live in a time when, if you can afford a good doctor, you can have subtle plastic surgery, which probably bought me five more years as an actor when I could be in movies," she said.

Jane recently got back into fitness after the success of her 1980s workout tapes.

She released a new yoga DVD that focuses on light stretches to improve mobility, called Jane Fonda: Prime Time AM/PM Yoga for Beginners.

The actress has previously credited good genes and healthy habits with maintaining her youthful appearance.

"I owe 30 per cent to genes, 30 per cent to good sex, 30 per cent because of sports and healthy lifestyle and for the remaining ten per cent, I have to thank my plastic surgeon," Jane told Sirius XM Radio in New York City this week.

Aries:

You will have to defer to others, which makes you anxious. There's never any problem when you're in control. You know how to act quickly and decisively. When others are at the helm, progress grinds to a halt. People deliberate endlessly over simple matters. Instead of putting pressure on the person in charge, make a strategic retreat. If you act like you don't care about the outcome of a situation, they won't be paralysed with uncertainty. You have a tendency to make people nervous.More
