Ford leaves hospital
Harrison Ford was seen being wheeled out of an Oxford hospital at the weekend.
The 71-year-old actor was forced to undergo surgery after breaking his leg while shooting a scene for JJ Abrams' upcoming Star Wars movie on June 12.
Photos published by MailOnline Sunday show Harrison leaving John Radcliffe Hospital in a wheelchair, his left foot heavily bandaged.
Harrison, who is reprising his role as rebel Han Solo in the latest instalment of the film franchise, was reportedly shooting a scene with Star Wars spacecraft Millenium Falcon when a hydraulic floor apparently fell on him.
The actor was reportedly airlifted from Pinewood Studios to John Radcliffe, where he is believed to have been in doctors’ care ever since.
The New York Daily News reports he's now set to return to the US to begin rehabilitation and may not be able to return to set for up to eight weeks.
It was originally thought that the American star had sustained an ankle injury.
However, Harrison’s spokesperson subsequently confirmed the actor needed an operation.
"Harrison Ford's left leg was broken in an accident. His surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly. He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work," Ina Treciokas said.
Star Wars: Episode VII is slated for release on December 18, 2015.
Disney has insisted production will not be delayed despite the star’s injury.
