Anna Friel has described pap shots of her new boyfriend Rhys Ifans as "pathetically ironic".
The two actors got together at the beginning of this year after working together on Neverland, a Peter Pan prequel, but the public first knew of it because of paparazzi shots of Rhys emerging from Anna's house in his dressing gown.
The shots were compared to the scene in Notting Hill, when Rhys' character Spike is photographed on his doorstep in his Y-fronts, and Anna told Tatler: "We were both like, 'That's so pathetically ironic'."
Anna, who split up with David Thewlis - the father of her daughter Gracie - last year, praised Rhys for being "sensitive" when they had to kiss for the first time on set, and said that Gracie had taken a shine to him.
"He is brilliant with Gracie. We introduced her to the idea really gently and softly. The good thing is, she had seen him on the set of Neverland and she said, 'You are very nice friends. I think he's very nice'."
