Fry to stage Twitter-inspired show

Stephen Fry will do a one-man show inspired by Twitter

Stephen Fry has announced plans for an unscripted one-man show inspired by his fans on the social networking site Twitter.

The 52-year-old, who is one of the most prominent celebrities on the site, said he would ask them to suggest topics to talk about on stage at the event in the Royal Albert Hall.

Fry, who has more than 1.5 million followers on the site, has already put the theory into practice for a series of shows in Australia, but admitted he was still nervous about the prospect of next month's London show.

Writing on his blog, he said he was "excited in much the way an aristocrat in a tumbril must have been excited as they rattled over the cobblestones towards the Place de la Concorde on their way to face the Paris mob and the fond final attentions of Madame la Guillotine".

Twitter, which allows people to share messages of up to 140 characters, has more than 50 million registered users and has received more than 14 billion Tweets since its launch in March 2006.

Gemini:

Someone will steal credit for your work, which is maddening. Drawing attention to the problem will only make you look petty. You're better off accepting the situation with quiet dignity and grace. Move on to the next assignment, but make sure to sign your name to every piece of work that is submitted. Tell your boss what you are doing on a regular basis. You'll sound like a pest, but at least it's better than getting stabbed in the back.More
