Gaga teaming with TLC

Lady Gaga

TLC and Lady Gaga are joining forces for a new track.

Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas are releasing a new album in October, slated to be their big comeback.

Gaga wrote one of the songs on the record – Posh Life. According to T-Boz, Gaga initially penned the track for herself before realising it sounded like a TLC track. She then decided to give the number to the group, who suggested she sing it with them.

"She was like, 'I don't want to disrespect the girls,' so we were like, 'Let's sing it and see how it goes, I mean you wrote it,’” T-Boz told MTV. “It was so funny [hearing] her [sing] like us, so hilarious. I was just like, why not sing it then? And she was just like so excited and we're excited."

T-Boz explained that while all parties involved were eager to seal the deal, their record label is causing delay.

"She wants to. You know them record company people. If it was up to the artist, all three of us are down. So we'll see what happens,” she said.

TLC’s new album comes 11 years after band member Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes was killed in a car accident. TLC reached out to many artists to fill in for their late friend.

"We're excited about that because so many artists are coming to the table and being so supportive about this whole situation,” T-Boz said.

And while there will be plenty of old songs on the album, there will be new material too – including the Gaga track.

"We wouldn't call it a 'Greatest Hits'; a lot of people are saying that for some reason,” T-Boz explained. “We rerecorded all of our old hits and we'll have some additional new - hopefully - hits and smashes too."
