Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke is Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive.

The 28-year-old Londoner is best known as the white-haired Daenerys Targaryen, aka Khaleesi and the Mother of Dragons on the HBO hit series.

She can do fierce, but also friendly. She can be queen, but also kid sister, killer or girl next door, writes Benjamin Markovits in the Esquire story accompanying Clarke's nude cover.

Emilia told Esquire that she followed her brother into boarding school because 'I fancied his friends', then went on to study drama in college.

She was featured in a couple of episodes on the British daytime soap, Doctors, after graduation and worked multiple jobs while living with friends before Game Of Thrones changed her life when it aired in 2011.

In addition to her role in Game of Thrones, Emilia played Sarah Connor in the summer movie hit Terminator: Genisys.

Esquire made the announcement early on Tuesday with the release of a sultry video and photo shoot of Emilia.
