Gardiner will still make mean jibes

Jason Gardiner has no plans to change his ways when he returns to Dancing On Ice

Jason Gardiner has vowed not to tone down his famously mean comments when he returns to Dancing On Ice.

The acerbic judge has been rehired on the ITV1 show after his replacement Louie Spence was axed.

Jason, 41, told the Daily Mirror: "I am who I am and ITV know that. I am going to be true to myself. I will be the judge I have been from day one and will call it as I see it.

"Will I tone down my comments? Absolutely not."

He added: "I challenge the contestants so they become great, there is a method in my meanness."

Australian Jason, who described watching swimming champion Sharron Davies skate as looking at "faecal matter that won't flush", had been a judge since the show launched in 2006.

But Louie replaced him in a shake-up of judges on the ITV1 skating show earlier this year.

Jason also caused controversy when he told former judge Karen Barber: "If your opinion still mattered, you'd be on the panel."
