George Shelley opens up about tragic death of his sister
George Shelley is trying to get on with his life, as he believes his late sister Harriet would have wanted.
George Shelley has spoken about his grief over the tragic death of his younger sister.
The Union J singer's sibling Harriet died in May (17) after sustaining severe head injuries from being hit by a car.
Opening up in an interview for the first time since her passing, George, 23, admitted it's been an extremely difficult period, especially since his sister's death came not long after he was dropped from his Capital FM radio show.
"This is the first time I've been out in a couple of months. I've had the s**ttest year of my life but I've just got to try and get on with things," he sighed to The Sun, praising his boyfriend Matthew Holehouse for being so supportive.
"I guess you just have to try and get on with life. It's really hard to say it... I have to do what my sister would have done. She would have just got on with stuff."
George was speaking from the Warner Music GQ Summer Party in London on Wednesday evening (05Jul17), where he also revealed he's been busy working on a secret project. He further added that recent events have inspired him to pursue his passions.
"Whatever I do next, I want it to always show myself and who I am," he explained, comparing his current situation to his stint on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! in 2015. "I feel like I got to do that a bit in the jungle. Whatever I do next will just need to be personal."
