George welcomes son

Melissa George gives birth to a baby boy in Paris.

The actress gave birth to little Raphaël Blanc in Paris, France. According to Melissa, she is over the moon to be a mother and tweeted about her newfound joy.

"WELCOME TO THE WORLD! OUR BEAUTIFUL SON Raphaël Blanc just born at the American Hospital of Paris. THERE ARE NO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE LOVE," she gushed on Monday.

Melissa and Jean-David met at a BAFTA after-party in 2012 and have been dating ever since.

The Australian-born star announced her pregnancy in August, and said having a baby was something she had dreamed about for years.

"This baby is very wanted and very much what we've been waiting for. It's no secret that I've always wanted to be a mother, and every time I had a birthday I would just be a little bit sad,” she told OK! Magazine Australia.

“You don't mind clicking over another number when you've got something inside you, growing, that you've always dreamed about."

The 37-year-old also talked about the process of choosing the baby’s name. According to Melissa, both she and Jean-David wanted a name that worked across both their cultures.

“It’s going to have a huge Australian influence and I want the name to work in my native country. But the baby has a French daddy so it’s going to have to work there, too. There’ll be lots of middle names!” she said.
