Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Giovanni Pernice and Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote appear to have hinted they are a couple.

Pernice has fuelled more speculation about their relationship status after he uploaded a photograph to his Instagram account that shows May Foote nestling into his arm.

The pair, who reached the 2015 Strictly Come Dancing final, have not yet officially confirmed if they are a couple.

Pernice's photograph had no caption, with the letters GG and a heart icon posted next to it.

May Foote, 24, was dating her Corrie co-star Sean Ward but they are said to have split following the Strictly final after seven months, reports The Mirror.

The actress, who played Katy Armstrong for five years in Corrie, recently showed off a new blonde hairdo.

Last November she condemned reports of the "Strictly Curse", telling The Mirror: "It's so stupid and quite offensive hearing rumours like that. Giovanni and I are just good mates - it's lovely."

Over the years the "Strictly Curse" has seen marriages and relationships ruined when celebrities fall for their professional dance partners.

The pair will soon be hitting the road as part of the Strictly Come Dancing live tour.

The tour kicks off in Birmingham on January 22.
